Hudspeth Joins Amite Rural Health Clinic Staff

[AMITE, La.] – Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Zandi Hudspeth, APRN, FNP-C, a longtime provider in Tangipahoa Parish, has joined the medical staff of Amite Rural Health Clinic. She is now accepting new patients. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred and can be scheduled by calling (985) 748-7141. Most commercial insurances, Medicare and Medicaid are accepted.
Certified through and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Hudspeth specializes in the provision of expert primary care and occupational medicine. She also is certified to perform medical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers through the National Registry for Certified Medical Examiners.
“I try to imagine myself or one of my family members in my patient’s situation so I can best understand how to personalize his or her care,” Hudspeth notes of her approach to medicine.
Hudspeth comes to Amite Rural Health Clinic from North Oaks Health System in Hammond, where she cared for patients for the past 9 years. She served on the staff of the North Oaks Medical Center Emergency Department for 2 years and the North Oaks Walk-In and Occupational Health Clinics in Hammond for 7 years. Other experience gained during this timeframe includes 8 years with Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center’s Urgent Care in Independence, 2 years with Total Family Medical in Robert and nearly 2 years with the practice of Maureen Biggs in Amite.
Before becoming a certified nurse practitioner, Hudspeth began her medical career as a patient care technician at North Oaks Medical Center 21 years ago while a nursing student at Southeastern Louisiana University. Soon after, she transferred to Labor & Delivery as a nurse technician. After graduating cum laude from Southeastern with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2001, she accepted a position at North Oaks as a staff registered nurse in the Women & Children’s Services Department.
It was in 2011 that she earned a master’s degree in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile and certification as an advanced practice registered nurse and certified family nurse practitioner.

Amite Rural Health Clinic is located at 409 NW Central Avenue in Amite. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
